Georgeann Duberstein could not wait until she reached her 60s.
After raising two children and working as a schoolteacher, physician’s assistant, computer saleswoman and a consultant, she could finally relax and do all the things she’s wanted to do for years.
“It’s a great age,” she said.
To take advantage of her status as a senior, she is heading up the new Great Age Club in Hainesville.
The growing group of seniors, 62 and over, has taken a field trip to Wisconsin, and Duberstein is planning a New Year’s Eve party at her home and a board meeting the following night.
A while back, she and her husband attended a senior citizens dance event in another town and were teased.
“They all kidded us because we were like the babies,” she said. “I am 66 but don’t feel that old.”
