Four offenders attacked a 36-year-old man on Oct. 8 when he was leaving a nightclub on the 600 block of North Dearborn Street, a report said.

The victim was walking when the offenders approached him from behind and knocked him over. After punching and kicking the victim in the face and body, they searched his pockets and took $500 and his cell phone.

The victim received a cut on the left side of his face. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released, the report said.

SLUMBER BUMMER: The home of three 18-year-old men was burglarized Monday while they slept, a report said.

The victims woke to find their home on the 2300 block of North Clifton Avenue in disarray.

Among the items taken were three MP3 players, a digital camera, a cell phone and a CTA transit card.

CUP THIEF: The home of three men was broken into on Oct. 7 while the victims were at work, a report said.

When one of the victims returned to the home on the 1000 block of West Armitage Avenue, he saw that the front door had been pried open.

Among the items reported missing were 75 DVDs, a portable DVD player, luggage, $200 in cash, a mug and two plastic cups.

SMOKER SCARE: Two offenders hit a 40-year-old man in the face with a metal pipe on Oct. 6 when they attempted to mug him, a report said.

The victim got off a bus at the intersection of Clark and Division Streets and began walking west on Division when the offenders approached him from behind and asked for a cigarette. When the victim reached into his pocket to get one, the offenders grabbed him by the arms and led him into an alley.

One of the offenders said, “Give me your money.”

When the victim reached into his pockets, the offenders struck him with the pipe before they fled.

DINE ‘N’ DASH: An offender stole a 22-year-old woman’s wallet on Oct. 7 while she sat at a cafe on the 600 block of North Michigan Avenue.

The woman had left her tote bag lying next to her on the floor. The offender slid the bag toward him, grabbed her Burberry wallet and fled.

A witness chased after the offender but was not able to catch him, the report said.

STEREO STOLEN: Two offenders broke into a 28-year-old man’s car Monday and stole his stereo, a report said.

Three witnesses saw one of the offenders use a brick to break the driver’s side window and enter the car, which was parked on the 1900 block of North Bissell Street.

The witnesses said that the second offender acted as a lookout, the report said. The car’s dashboard was also damaged.
