Yes, Michael Jordan is headed to the American League Division Series. No, he will not try out for a spot on the 25-man playoff roster or discuss the merits of early retirement with Ozzie Guillen (we think). But appearing Tuesday at Hales Franciscan High School, where he and wife Juanita were introduced as honorary chairs of the school’s $15 million capital campaign, Jordan did take an optimistic view of his old team’s chances. “I really think they have a chance,” Jordan said, confirming he’d be at U.S. Cellular Field for Game 1 against Boston later that day. “They don’t have all the flashy names, but they’ll be all right. Pitching, defense–that’s all you need.”
