Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The forgotten man of Northwestern’s offense, sophomore tailback Brandon Roberson, is due back for Saturday’s game against Wisconsin. Roberson began the season as the starter but sprained his ankle in the first quarter of the opener against Ohio. His injury provided an opportunity for Tyrell Sutton, the nation’s No. 1 freshman runner with 528 yards.

Roberson, who has sat out the last two games, is scheduled to get some work carrying the ball and returning kickoffs.

“I told him [the ankle] is not going to be perfect the rest of the year, maybe his life, but it would probably only hurt you if you’re a 100-meter sprinter in the Olympics,” coach Randy Walker said. “I think he’s ready to go with it. I think he feels good about things.” . . .

Saturday’s game will be televised by ESPN, but which network will be determined by the Major League Baseball playoff schedule.
