A 28-year-old woman reported that she was sexually assaulted by a stranger April 17 while waiting for a bus in Englewood.
The woman told police she was waiting for a bus at West 66th Street and South Halsted Street around 2:45 a.m. when a man approached her, said Robin Mohr, police spokeswoman.
The woman reported that the man asked for a cigarette, then grabbed her and dragged her to a nearby garage. When she screamed, the man displayed a knife and threatened to kill her, Mohr said.
After sexually assaulting her, the man fled, Mohr said. The victim described her attacker as 30 years old, black, 6 feet tall and 190 to 200 pounds. She was treated at Holy Cross Hospital.
The case is still under investigation, Mohr said.
