After missing a week of practice and the Western Michigan game because of a battered sternum and ribs, Illinois quarterback Jon Beutjer is scheduled to participate in a full practice Tuesday. Beutjer and his teammates practiced in shorts Sunday and spent Monday studying film.

“Moving and throwing, he did fine [Sunday],” coach Ron Turner said. “He was good enough to practice, [but] he’s not 100 percent. I think Jon should be fine [by Saturday]. If he’s healthy, he’s the starter” in the Big Ten opener against Purdue.
