In last Saturday’s landslide victory over Florida A&M, Halsey started and Thomas replaced him after the first three series.
They continued to rotate for the remainder of the game. Thomas ran 14 times for 143 yards and two touchdowns, and Halsey rushed 16 times for 79 yards and two touchdowns and added two pass receptions for six yards.
In addition, Halsey ran back three punts for 18 yards and Thomas returned two kickoffs for 47 yards.
“We both run hard and hold onto the ball,” Halsey said. “Pierre has a knack for staying on his feet and gaining extra yards that way and I have the ability to make people miss tackles in the open field.”
