With CBS’ three “CSI” series, “Without a Trace,” “Cold Case” and “Amazing Race,” Jerry Bruckheimer has done his part to crush NBC, but now the super-producer is joining the opposition. NBC has given a series commitment to a new drama from Jerry Bruckheimer TV and Warner Bros. TV.
Bruckheimer’s chief TV executive, Jonathan Littman, will oversee the new series, a defense-themed offering set in the Pentagon.
This past development season, Bruckheimer and Littman worked on “City of Dreams” for NBC. The network opted not to pick up the private-eye drama, which would have starred Jimmy Smits. Instead, the network has rolled the series commitment for that show onto the new Bruckheimer series, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Bruckheimer and Littman are searching for a writer to move the project forward.
In addition to his busy slate of CBS producing duties, Bruckheimer’s upcoming feature films include the Nicolas Cage adventure “National Treasure” and the basketball drama “Glory Road.”
