Alter Bridge
One Day Remains
More Top Picks Dji Phantom 3 Standard
Say this about alt-rockers Alter Bridge, which consists of all the members from the defunct Creed except singer Scott Stapp, and fronted by former Mayfield Four vocalist Myles Kennedy: At least they’re better than Creed.
The band’s 11-song debut is cut from the same midtempo arena-rock cloth. But replacing Stapp’s proselytizing and he-man yarl are Kennedy’s more everyman concerns (love, truth and the glory of the rock show) and dynamic pipes. Except for Kennedy’s voice, nothing distinguishes Alter Bridge from the glut of similar-sounding acts. But to rise from the ashes of a monstrously successful band and show even the slightest artistic progression is an achievement.
Take away: The sequel is better
