Caroline Rhea, last seen beating the field of GSN’s “Celebrity Blackjack,” is expected to take hosting duties on NBC’s “The Biggest Loser.”

The unscripted series challenges contestants to lose weight. NBC announced “The Biggest Loser” in May, describing it as a life-altering and surgery-free drama. No timetable has been set for the show’s production or premiere, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

” ‘The Biggest Loser’ celebrates hard work and rewards discipline,” executive producer Ben Silverman said (“The Restaurant”). “Hopefully, we will inspire an overweight America to get fit. Every day will be a struggle for our characters as they battle each other and try to change their habits and way of life.”

The theme hits close to Rhea’s heart. The comic hasn’t been shy about discussing her dieting difficulties, which were part of the focus of “Plan B,” an ABC comedy that failed to make the network’s schedule this past development season.

Rhea’s other credits include her own talk show and “Sabrina, the Teenage Witch.”
