Apparently, it takes awhile to make a band to the exacting standards of Sean “P. Diddy” Combs. Thus, MTV viewers will be treated to a third season of “Making the Band II” starting next month.

The show, which chronicles the lives and nascent careers of the six Diddy proteges in Da Band, will return to MTV on March 4.

The new season, MTV reports, will follow the “now established” group as it moves into Combs’ New York apartment and works on taking Da Band “to the next level.” The said level involves the release of Da Band’s first album, “Too Hot for TV” (which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard album chart in October), and work on a follow-up.

All the usual drama about handling fame and the “Real World”-style squabbles about living conditions–even in Diddy’s posh Upper East Side crib–will be there too. MTV also hints that one of Da Band’s members will come close to getting the boot.

Combs’ Bad Boy Entertainment, which released Da Band’s album, co-produces “Making the Band II” with MTV.
