The way Keelan Donald looks at it, he was Leo’s first option–and its last. With 20 seconds left in the third overtime last Friday and Leo tied with Hales Franciscan 92-92, the ball was in Donald’s hands. “With three other starters fouled out, I was it,” Donald said with a smile. The 6-foot-3-inch senior maintained his dribble until seven seconds remained and made a move past Hales’ Jerod Haynes. When 6-4 Nate Minnoy cut him off, Donald rose up and unleashed a 15-footer. “It was a good look, and I thought: `I hope it goes in.'” When it dropped through with 1.7 seconds left, Donald’s reaction was: “Thank you!” Upon further review, he admitted, “I guess I did feel a little like Michael Jordan making a winning shot.”
