The WB thinks the stars of the “Blue Collar Comedy Tour,” including Jeff Foxworthy, are primed for television success.

The network has ordered six episodes of a sketch-comedy show from Foxworthy and fellow “Blue Collar” comics Bill Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy (Dan Whitney). The series, to be shot in Atlanta, will be executive produced by Fax Bahr and Adam Small (“Mad TV” “The Jamie Kennedy Experiment”). No airdate has been set.

“This is a great shot for us to do something that isn’t being done on television right now with three extremely funny actor/comedians,” says Jordan Levin, the WB’s co-CEO. “Fax and Adam bring a cutting-edge wit to whatever they do, and we all believe… this group can make a hit series for us.”

The “Blue Collar Comedy Tour” grossed more than $15 million, making it one of the most successful comedy tours in history.

Foxworthy and Engvall starred in “The Jeff Foxworthy Show” on ABC and NBC in the mid-1990s.
