NBC has found another detective to patrol the beaches of Hawaii, while Fox is taking a second stab at finding the hilarity of multiple-birth siblings as pilot season continues to heat up.

Ivan Sergei, co-star on NBC’s “Crossing Jordan,” will join the cast of the network’s “Pearl City,” an ensemble drama about detectives in Hawaii. Sergei, who joins Sharif Atkins (“ER”) in the cast, will play an arrogant, unorthodox detective, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In addition to “Crossing Jordan,” which returns to NBC in March, Sergei can be seen in the network’s May sweeps mini-series event “10.5.” His previous TV credits include The WB dramedy “Jack & Jill” and the short-lived ABC comedy “Wednesday 9:30 (8:30 Central).”

Over at Fox, the network has picked up “Quints,” a comedy from Mark Reisman (“Frasier”). The series will focus on a clan of young siblings living in a small house.

In 2002, the network picked up the pilot for “Septuplets” with an eye toward a midseason launch, but the series never aired.
