For those still looking for a local artisan-made gift, check out Peter Patterson’s annual holiday open house.
A glass artist who has maintained his own studio (where he also gives classes) for 15 years, Patterson creates paperweights, vases, platters, lampshades, sculpture, etc., and is known for his strong use of color — and for his paperweights that glow in the dark. He adds a phosphorus to the molten glass.
Patterson also is known for helping patrons make their own (complimentary) paperweight or Christmas tree ornament.
