After watching Oklahoma dominate Oklahoma State 52-9 Saturday, there appears to be no debate about who has the nation’s No. 1 college football team. But between now and Dec. 7, when the final BCS rankings are released, there is going to be a lot of heated discussion about who’s No. 2.

Thanks to Miami’s 31-7 loss to Virginia Tech on Saturday night, there are six teams with one loss who’ll lay claim to that No. 2 spot if they win out.

Here is a quick rundown of the one-loss teams’ chances to make the Sugar Bowl.

Southern Cal: Unless they lose one of their final three games or play poorly and drop in the conventional polls, they’re in.

Florida ST.: Win out, which would include a win over an improving Florida, and Southern Cal and Miami have to lose.

Miami: The Hurricanes have a chance if they can get back to No. 3 in the regular polls and if Florida State wins out.

Ohio St.: The Buckeyes have the toughest road ahead as they play Michigan State, Purdue and Michigan.

Virginia Tech: A weak non-conference schedule is catching up to them.

LSU: Ditto for the Tigers, who have looked strong except for a loss to Florida.
