Driver who tried to lure girl sought

An unidentified man tried to lure a 13-year-old girl into his car in downtown Naperville on Wednesday evening, police said.

They said the girl was walking through a parking lot at 200 E. 5th Ave. around 7:30 p.m. when the man called to her. He asked her several times whether she wanted to get into his car, a white, mid-1990s BMW two-door convertible, police said. The girl ran away.

The license plate of the BMW has red letters and at least two 7s, though it’s not known what state the plate is from. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Naperville police at 630-420-6666.
