Gorton Community Center has launched an ongoing series called “Sunday Afternoon at the Movies.” Each monthly program will include the screening of a film followed by discussion.

First up in the series: “The Man Who Wasn’t There,” 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday (this session is being held on a Saturday because this Sunday is Mother’s Day). Next: “My Neighbor Totoro,” an animated Japanese film for children ages 5 and up and their parents, 2 to 5 p.m. June 2. Both programs will be held at Gorton Community Center, 400 E. Illinois Rd., Lake Forest; tickets: $7. 847-234-6060.
