Two-time All-State running back J.R. Zwierzynski of Joliet Catholic made an oral commitment Sunday to Penn State.
The 6-foot-3-inch, 230-pound running back, who rushed for 2,340 yards and 39 touchdowns in leading the Hilltoppers to their third straight state title, chose the Nittany Lions over Northwestern.
A high school all-American, Zwierzynski had also considered Boston College and Wisconsin.
