An Ingleside man was sentenced to 5 years in prison Wednesday after he pleaded guilty in three business burglaries last year.
Leonard Zerbst, 21, of the 26200 block of West Van Buren Road, appeared before Lake County Circuit Judge James Booras.
The first burglary occurred Aug. 31 at K and C Cleaners in Vernon Hills, according to Assistant State’s Atty. George Pappas.
The second burglary occurred Sept. 11 at Hunan Palace in Libertyville, Pappas said. On Oct. 18, Pappas said, the same burglar hit Foremost Liquors in Grayslake.
In all three burglaries, the burglar entered the businesses after they closed and took cash, Pappas said. Zerbst, who reportedly cooperated with authorities once he was in custody, also pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of alcohol. That plea did not alter his sentence.
