Supposedly, 2000’s most important photographs involved Elian Gonzalez with federal agents and political protesters facing off in Florida. But as Chicago in the Year 2000’s “You Are Here” exhibit proves, everyday life is just as eloquent. Displaying one photo for each of the 366 days, the exhibit captures eight-year-old Robert Fryerson waiting for the pastor’s blessing on Sunday morning at Blooming Rose Deliverance Church (above) and Katrina Sanchez lounging in the back of her uncle’s fancy vintage car (right). The exhibit, which runs through March 4, opens at 10 a.m. New Year’s Day at the Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E. Washington. Free. 312-455-8585.
