Officials are debating whether to buy a tent or keep renting tents for village-sponsored special events.
Trustees this week postponed discussion of the issue because Village President Ross Ferraro could not attend the meeting.
It costs about $40,000 per year to rent pole tents for the special events, reported Assistant Village Manager Robert Mellor. The rental fee includes heaters, lights, tables, chairs and flooring. The village could buy a pole tent with the same equipment for about $180,000, or it could buy a Quik-Span tent system with a permanently installed framework and chandelier lights, as well as tables, chairs and flooring, for about $225,000.
