Glendale Heights trustees Thursday night set into motion the first in a series of renovations to the community’s park system.

Trustees authorized spending $81,390 to install plastic slides, swings and climbing equipment for Ollman, Reskin and Glen Hill Parks. The contract has been awarded to CCM Co. of Lombard.

Officials said that equipment was being installed and that other work will be performed in late February or March.

“If the weather holds out, we may be able to get one complete park done,” said Trustee Larry Giampa, chairman of the Parks and Recreation Committee. “If we can get one park done this year, it would be great.”

According to Giampa, the first park to be completed would be Glen Hill because it requires the most work.

Parks in all of the six representative districts are expected to get a share of the $436,000 allocated for park renovations this year. Ollman is near Glen Ellyn Road and west of Somerset Apartments. Glen Hill is near Bloomingdale Road and North Avenue. Reskin is off Fullerton Avenue.
