At least four people were killed over the weekend in separate traffic accidents in the Chicago area.

A 21-year-old Hoffman Estates woman and a 25-year-old Hoffman Estates man died Sunday morning when the car they were in veered off the Eisenhower Expressway, went up an embankment and slammed into an overpass near Kostner Avenue at about 6:30 a.m., Illinois State Police said.

Driver Jennifer Heed and Clarence Hill were killed in the crash. They were traveling west on the expressway about 6:30 a.m. when the 1993 Chevrolet that Heed was driving veered off the road, state police said.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.

About six hours earlier, a 36-year-old Chicago Ridge man was killed when the motorcycle he was riding became entangled with his friend’s motorcycle as the two rode on Archer Avenue in Lyons Township.

Edward Contreras and Raymond Suckash collided at about 12:30 a.m. as they attempted to make a left turn onto 95th Street, said state police Trooper J. L. Humphrey. Contreras was thrown from his bike, Humphrey said.

Contreras was taken to Columbia LaGrange Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Suckash sustained minor injuries. The officer investigating the accident could not be reached, but Trooper Humphrey said he did not know if either men were wearing helmets.

And an 18-year-old Northwest Side man died Saturday night after being involved in an auto accident on the Kennedy Expressway early Saturday. Matthew Pietraszewski was a passenger in a Mitsubishi pickup when the driver, Scott Adwan, 21, 5202 W. McVicker Ave., lost control while exiting at Addison Street about 1:20 a.m., state police said. The pickup crossed back onto the highway, struck a median wall and then hit another car, police said.

Pietraszewski died at Illinois Masonic Medical Center Saturday night. Adwan, who sustained minor injuries, was charged Sunday with drunken driving. Other charges are pending, police said.
