Last month’s first-ever Kane County Relay for Life, sponsored by the American Cancer Society, raised more than $168,000 for cancer research and to benefit patients and their families, event organizers said.
A total of 107 teams, composed of 10 to 15 individuals each, took turns walking rings around Elfstrom Stadium in Geneva as part of the June 26-27 all-night fundraiser. The top sponsor was the St. Charles High School Drill Team, which collected $3,500.
