Beginning the season with just one returnee from last year’s Elite Eight team, Glenbrook South coach Patty Iverson knew her boys volleyball squad would be a team in progress.

After Thursday night’s 15-8, 15-8 thumping of New Trier for their fourth straight victory, things are progressing nicely for the ninth-ranked Titans (7-1, 2-0 Central Suburban League).

“We don’t really know what our strengths are,” said Iverson. “We’re still figuring out where people need to go on this team. I have no idea how good this team will be. In two weeks I might have a better idea.”

The Titans were paced by David Mattas with a game-high 10 kills and senior middle hitter Matt Harris with five blocks. Kevin Neal had six kills to lead New Trier (3-9, 0-2).
