Was it just last year that KidNews closed the book on our pet Sea Monkey project? (They died.) Still, it was more successful than our ant farm. (The ants died faster.)
Well, you can’t keep a bunch of adventuresome pet lovers down. We’ve now waded into the wacky world of Surf Frogs, courtesy of our friends at Uncle Milton. They sent us the Surf Frogs Live Frog Habitat ($15, available at Toys R Us and Store of Knowledge), an enclosed beachfront frog pad complete with water pool and surf board. The only thing missing were its inhabitants, leopard frog tadpoles ($7.80 plus postage). We sent away for two of them, and they arrived by mail a few weeks ago.
Now, our new pals (what shall we name them?) are swimming in prep pools, where in eight weeks they’ll evolve into little frogs and move into their new home. Stay tuned for more…
