Romeoville trustees voted Wednesday night to approve an annexation agreement and special-use agreement that will bring slightly more than 19 acres east of Illinois Highway 53 under village control.
The agreement includes business zoning and zoning permitting a storage business.
The property is next to the site of the Crazy Rock Gentlemen’s Club, which already is within village boundaries.
The special-use agreement means any proposed land-use changes on the property will have to be submitted to the Village Board for approval, according to village attorney Ray Meader.
“We have total control (under the terms of the agreement),” he said.
Trustee Edward McCartan said he wanted to be sure that the annexation was proper in view of the Will County state’s attorney’s scrutiny of annexations. Meader assured the board that the annexation would meet all requirements.
