A 33-year-old Elgin woman was treated for cuts and puncture wounds at Sherman Hospital Tuesday night after the second attack this week by Rottweiler dogs in the far northwest suburbs, police said.
The woman suffered cuts in her face and left arm at about 5:30 p.m. while visiting the 200 block of Bolz Road to possibly buy the dog, police said.
The dog’s owner, Ruben Villareal Jr., 27, of 201 Bolz Rd., helped pull the 2-year-old animal off the woman and later called police, they said.
Villareal was charged with keeping a dangerous animal, police said. Kane County officials ordered the dog to be kept under observation for rabies, although a police report said the animal, named “Taz,” was wearing rabies tags.
On Sunday, a 13-year-old girl was mauled by another Rottweiler dog near Woodstock.
