Developers hope to build a subdivision in Tinley Park consisting of a hybrid of the town-home and single-family dwelling.
Representatives of West Point Builders and Developers of Willowbrook presented a proposal recently to the village’s Plan Commission for 220 free-standing town homes at the northeast corner of Interstate Highway 80 and Oak Park Avenue.
The 40-acre site is across Oak Park Avenue from where the village hopes to build a convention center/hotel complex next to another residential subdivision.
Lawyer Shawn Hankins said the development would offer the convenience of a town home but with greater privacy, because the buildings would not share walls. Exterior maintenance would be provided by an association, he said. A park area would be included.
