Public Works crews recently completed a flood-relief project in the Timbers Edge 2 subdivision.
Storm sewers and detention areas were constructed in the vicinity of 175th Street and Redwood at a cost of $46,900.
About 10 homes in that area sustained an estimated $95,000 in flood damage in the summer of 1996, according to village Trustee Carl Vandenberg.
“The improvements will affect 40 homes by offering them better protection against flooding,” Vandenberg said.
Several other areas in the village are in line for flood-relief work next year, he added.
