Although the high or “stiletto” heel, defined as 3 inches or higher, faded in popularity in the late 1980s, it’s now making a comeback -and teens are going there too. And our question is, Why, oh why? After centuries of suffering for fashion, today’s females can look good and be comfortable. So why return to the pain? Not to mention the risk of crippling foot injuries, as any foot doc could tell you.
Some women defend high heels, saying they make them look taller and their legs slimmer. But have you ever watched someone walk in stiletto heels? It’s like watching a circus bear walk on a rolling ball. It seems a neat trick, but the animal seems uncomfortable, and nobody has to tell you you’re witnessing something unnatural.
