Village officials said Tuesday night they are gearing up for road repairs that include reconstruction of a section of Nelson Road and patching and resurfacing of other streets.

A contract to rebuild the stretch of Nelson Road between Haven Avenue and the Old Plank Road Trail was awarded to P.T. Ferro Construction for $51,854.

Separately, a total of $230,000 in motor fuel tax funds has been set aside by the board to pay for road maintenance this year.

Roads to be resurfaced include: Briarcrest Lane from Stonebridge Drive to Grandview Drive; Cherrywood Lane from Andrea Drive to Cimarron Drive; South Cooper Street from U.S. Highway 30 to Sunset Trail and from Schoolgate Road to Woodlawn Road; Lambeth Lane south of Coventry Road; Coventry east of Pine Grove Lane; Haven Avenue from Gear Drive to Honey Lane; and North Cooper Street from Ash Street to Aspen Drive.

Village workers will take care of smaller repairs, such as patching, crack-filling and curb and drainage repairs, said Ron Franciskovich, village engineer.
