Community meetings will follow an architect’s report on expansion possibilities at Lincoln-Way High School’s East and Central Campuses, Supt. Lawrence Wyllie told residents who attended a breakfast at the school over the weekend.
The school board asked for an architectural study of the freshman-sophomore campus in Frankfort and the junior-senior campus in New Lenox after some residents protested a vote to build a third high school in the northeast corner of the district.
The architect is expected to report on the feasibility of converting each campus into a separate four-year school next month.
If a third high school is built on district property at 191st Street and Harlem Avenue, the other two schools will be converted to four-year schools, but they will not be enlarged.
