The technology push in Mokena schools is moving out of the classroom and onto the Internet.

The web page will give parents another way to access information about the schools and activities, Reardon said.
“This really can be a great communication vehicle for us with the public,” he said.
“We’ll be able to put newsletters in there and everything,” Assistant Supt. Pat Chesla said.
The web page demonstration also showcased another technological innovation in use at the school, an LCD display panel that can be used to project the contents of a computer screen.
The panel, purchased with money raised by the School District 159 Foundation, is “a great teaching tool,” Reardon said.
In other business, the school board adopted a new series of reading textbooks, renewed membership in the Illinois Elementary School Association and awarded $5,802 worth of supply purchase contracts to seven companies: Beckley-Cardy, Evers Office Supply, GBC Telecenter, Irco Art Products, Prestige Office Products, Quill Corp. and Walton Office Supply.
