Barrington Village President Ronald Hamelberg announced Tuesday that he will seek a second term in the April 1 election.
Hamelberg, 60, cited as the major accomplishments of his first term the annexation of the Middle School Prairie Campus, the placement of a police counselor at Barrington High School and the first labor contract with the village’s public works employees.
“Four years is not enough time to fully accomplish the goals which I submitted to the people of Barrington when elected,” Hamelberg said.
He said his plans include making downtown Barrington economically viable and a new village hall, he said.
Hamelberg is an accountant and has been chief executive for the Community Renewal Society for the last 18 years.
