FIRED WFMT DIRECTOR TO STAY ON A WHILE

Norman Pellegrini, longtime program director for classical music station WFMT until his dismissal last month, will continue to have a role at the station through July 1998, WFMT announced Tuesday.

Pellegrini has agreed to a consultancy contract that will keep him as an on-air host for broadcasts of Lyric Opera, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra concerts and future interview projects, WFMT said.
