Village employees are participating in a new program designed to make them more aware of different cultures and help eliminate cultural misunderstandings, officials said.
The program, one of the suggestions from the yearlong Total Community Development II project, is designed to teach employees how to work more sensitively and effectively with people of different cultures. While the majority of the village’s nearly 320 employees are white, census figures show the racial makeup in Downers Grove is becoming more diverse.
