Joe Montana made a quick move to complete a third-down pass, wasn’t touched and was sidelined Sunday for the third time in the five games he has been able to start for the Chiefs. He was replaced by Dave Krieg with the Dolphins leading 13-0 with 4:46 left in the half.
Montana, 37, aggravated his left hamstring injured Oct. 3 against the Raiders.
“I just jammed my leg into the ground,” Montana said. “I was trying to stop from running because I wasn’t going to run. I just pulled up and it jammed and went on me again.”
Montana has played every other week: Sept 5, injured wrist vs. Tampa Bay; Sept. 12, did not play vs. Houston; Sept. 20, finished vs. Denver; Sept. 26, bye; Oct. 3, injured hamstring vs. Raiders; Oct. 10, did not play vs. Cincinnati; Oct. 24, bye; Oct. 31, aggravated hamstring vs. Miami.
