The village’s 28 patrol officers will get a 3.5 percent raise this year under a new contract approved by trustees.
The union contract with the Fraternal Order of Police began this week and ends April 30, 1995. For first-year patrol officers below the rank of sergeant, the raise puts salaries at $28,000. Salaries for experienced patrol officers will range from more than $29,000 to more than $41,000.
The contract also includes an option allowing the union to negotiate salaries and health and life insurance benefits after one year, trustees said.
