A Waukegan man has been sentenced to 8 years in prison for selling a half kilogram of cocaine to an undercover federal agent for money and guns.

Lake County Circuit Judge Henry Tonigan sentenced Jorge Palma, 40, of 1701 Sunset Rd., after Palma pleaded guilty to the charges on Monday. His accomplice, Arturo Romero, 35, of 515 2nd St., has pleaded guilty to similar charges and is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 3 before Tonigan, according to Assistant State’s Atty. John Kornak.

Both men were charged with possession with intent to deliver a pound of cocaine in exchange for two Uzi submachine guns and five handguns in a deal made with an undercover agent with the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.

Palma and Romero were arrested in August.
