Chicago State women`s basketball team will find out how much a year of experience means.
The Lady Cougars are virtually intact from last season, when they struggled to a 5-23 record.
Senior forward Debbie Scott, a six-footer who averaged 13.4 points and 7.0 rebounds a game, is back. Molifenge Millhouse, another senior who plays guard and forward, averaged 13.0 points and 5.7 rebounds last season. Center Latrice Robinson averaged 10.3 rebounds a game last season and in 1990-91 averaged 12.3 rebounds, tops in the NCAA among underclassmen. Also returning are twin sisters Yolanda and Kassandra McGehee, who averaged 7.0 and 6.8 points a game, respectively, last season.
Coach Mike Clark welcomes four newcomers-junior-college transfers Althea Simpson Jr., at 6 feet 2 inches the tallest Lady Cougar, and Mary Rainey; and Katrina Robinson of Wells High School and Michelle Yenter from Nelsonville, Wis. Yenter averaged 23 points a game in high school.
Clark, who like men`s coach Rick Pryor is in his third season-11-45 record so far-is well-traveled. Clark, a product of Homewood-Flossmoor High School, has coached and played in Italy, Switzerland, Israel and Iceland and was drafted out of Oregon by the Utah Jazz in 1981.
