Chicago State`s Gabriel Lessor stayed unbeaten this season in the long jump without even trying Saturday. Lessor, who already has qualified for the NCAA indoor track meet in March, was interested most in working on his technique in Saturday`s six-team meet at Sterling. He still won at 23 feet 7 inches and also placed third in the 200 meters. Keith Thomas, who also has qualified for the NCAAs, won the 55-meter dash in :06.2 and was second in the 200. Gary Manning won the 400 meters in :50.4, and freshman Stephen Crudup was second in the 55-meter hurdles.
In women`s track, Shreemone Anderson won the high jump at 5-4 and was second in the 200, won by Chicago State`s Marcy Hoffman in :25.7. Hoffman also won the 400 in :59.9.
