The Bills complained about the officiating during the game, but coach Marv Levy was subdued afterward.
”I told myself on the way down here that I prefer not to say anything relative to the officiating. I prefer not to comment,” Levy said.

Receiver Andre Reed, held to five catches and only 34 yards by Darrell Green and others, was penalized for throwing his helmet after what he thought was interference by Redskins safety Brad Edwards.
The penalty took the Bills out of field-goal range at the end of the first half, and Levy left the field yelling at field judge Ed Merrifield.
”Both the offense and defense have equal opportunity,” Merrifield said of the play. ”The ball was high, the defensive man came in slightly over. He had equal opportunity to it, and I felt neither player had an advantage to it, and there was no evidence of an advantage gained.”
Bills linebacker Cornelius Bennett also screamed at referee Jerry Markbreit after his roughing-the-passer call on Bennett helped set up Mark Rypien`s first touchdown pass to Earnest Byner.
Bills quarterback Jim Kelly had to pull Bennett away from Markbreit on the sideline.
