Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Architects and interior designers visiting the City Lights by Crest showroom, 363 W. Erie St., can sink into cushy black leather sofas, sip fresh coffee and survey a dazzling array of fixtures and lamps.

Now visitors also can bask in the knowledge they are shopping in the ARTS 1991 Lighting Showroom of the Year, an honor co-sponsored by the Accessories Resource Team and the Dallas Market Center.

The pyramid-shaped crystal trophy is displayed in the River North showroom, as are hundreds of products ranging from $200 wall sconces to a $38,000 waterfall-like chandelier.

”The award is voted upon by manufacturers and representatives, so getting something in the industry you work for is rewarding,” says Ingrid Meyer, CLC`s showroom manager.

Opened one year in the trendy neighborhood, the showroom aims to be the

”one-stop shopping spot” for professionals who design residential and commercial interiors, Meyer says.

One unique feature is the Lighting Effects Center. Adjacent to the product display area, this room has built-in halogen, fluorescent and incandescent ceiling lights in a variety of configurations. Customers who want to compare the differences between lighting can do so with a touch of the button on a central control panel.
