Watch out, Disney World! Move over, Universal Studios! Abracadabra, hocus-pocus: The new Orlando focus is on illusionist Doug Henning, who is bringing his own brand of magic to the area as president and part owner of Vedaland, a $1 billion project that will include a 450-acre complex and a theme park based on magic.
It also will emphasize the earth sciences and space travel; include a 500-room hotel, rides, shows and food areas; and be built on land adjacent to Disney World`s west side.
Construction is scheduled to begin in six months, with the family-oriented, laser- and magic-filled theme park and hotel expected to open within two years.
And in case you are wondering, the word ”Veda” in Vedaland means
”life” to followers of some Eastern cultures.
