The resort`s centerpiece will be a 19th Century-style Spanish village with cafes, restaurants, art galleries, discos and shops.
It will have five championship golf courses, a 36-court tennis facility, a spa and health club and more.
It is scheduled to open in late 1992.
The complex is one of several resorts under development in Puerto Rico.
They range from a $200 million, 900-room luxury mega-resort to be built at the old El Conquistador Hotel site in Fajardo on the island`s east coast to the $350 million Puerto del Rey Marina and Beach Resort, also near Fajardo.
Also, a $45 million resort is planned for Joyuda Beach on the west coast.
