Chicago State`s basketball team wanted to demonstrate that its most significant victory of the season-a 109-107 victory over Northeastern Illinois last month-wasn`t a fluke.
”We wanted to prove that we didn`t win as a result of luck last time,”
Cougars coach Rick Pryor said after his team won Saturday night`s rematch 108-93. ”We were prepared to play hard. We were ready to go.”
The Cougars (4-22) have three games left, but already Pryor is thinking about next year.
”We`re trying to finish up the season strong to give us something to look back on next year,” he said. ”We want to show that we didn`t give up.”
