At last, a residence that comes equipped with a wife-or better yet, a concierge.
Homeowners in the new Residences of Chicago Place, 700 N. Michigan, will not have to butter up the doorman, cultivate a maintenance worker or beg the superintendent to get those small, but necessary, household chores done. An on-site concierge for tenants will be available ”to walk your dog, feed your fish, talk to your plants,” promises a representative of Sudler Marling Inc., the building developer.
The concierge, a 24-hour pool and spectacular views are just some of the amenities developer Jules Marling showed off this week, as the residences were unveiled. It`s also what he hopes will attract well-heeled buyers.
Three model homes with interiors designed by the Childs/Dreyfuss Group are open to help prospective buyers visualize living high above Saks Fifth Avenue. Designers Jack Child and Julianne Lyons added such touches as wood paneling for a library and entertainment centers that revolve in the wall from the den to the master bedroom. The units are equipped with all-white kitchen appliances and lots of baths.
While the interiors can be appreciated by everyone, residents of the building will be only those prepared for prices beginning at $200,000 for a one-bedroom. Best-selling units so far are the three-bedroom duplexes with prices upwards of $1 million.
