Perhaps taking a cue from Mark Twain, who wrote a delightful book entitled ”Innocents Abroad,” the United States Department of State is making available to individual travelers a fact-filled brochure called ”Americans Abroad-What You Should Know Before You Go.”
Unlike Twain`s work, which dealt mainly with the joys of travel abroad, the new brochure has a more serious purpose: to alert Americans to the potential risks of foreign travel and to raise security awareness, according to Sheldon Krys, assistant secretary of state for diplomatic security.
To get a free copy of ”What You Should Know Before You Go,” write to Americans Abroad, Pueblo, Colo. 81009.
